Riadh Ben Khalifa est historien, maître-assistant à l’Université de Tunis (Faculté des Sciences humaines et sociales de Tunis). Il est également membre du laboratoire Histoire des économies et des sociétés méditerranéennes, chercheur associé à l’URMIS-Nice et membre du Conseil pour le développement de la recherche en sciences sociales (Codesria).
Depuis 2017, il est rédacteur en chef de la série « Sciences humaines et sociales » des Cahiers de Tunisie, revue fondée en 1953.
